| Ultra Violet Week 2008 |
Sigma Kappa's Ultra Violet Week will focus on Sigma Kappa’s three national philanthropic
projects, raise Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness in the community, and celebrate the 134th
anniversary of Sigma Kappa Sorority. The week-long celebration will begin on November 1st at the
annual Memory Walk at Audubon Park and will conclude on the evening of November 8th at the
Violet Gala Silent Auction and Cocktail Social. Alumnae and guests, as well as collegiate parents,
fraternity men are invited to attend the Violet Gala. All proceeds will be distributed to the Sigma
Kappa Foundation’s Philanthropy Fund for Alzheimer's Disease research.

Ultra Violet Week Organization Winner Announced
Organization Participation Information:
We invite every organization on campus to participate in our philanthropy week activities. If your
organization would like to participate please contact any Sigma Kappa for any questions you may
have regarding Ultra Violet Week.
We ask that the participating organizations participate in the above activities to receive the most
points for the week. The winner of Ultra Violet Week will be announced at the Violet Gala. Each
organization that participates in King of Hearts will receive 100 points for the organization. A
sorority can receive points by co-sponsoring a male contestant in the pageant. Please fill out the
organization registration packet by October 10th.

The point system is as follows:
Memory Walk: 20 points per member walking with Sigma Kappa during the Memory Walk on
November 1st at Audubon Park.
Alzheimer's Disease Speaker: 20 points per member in attendance on Monday, November 3rd.
Memory Games: 5 points per member who plays the memory games. Points will also be awarded
for correct matches during the game on Tuesday, November 4th.
Inherit the Earth: 15 points per member who participates in cleaning up the campus on
Wednesday, November 5th.
Maine Sea Cost Mission Drive: 50 points per box filled with items for the Maine Sea Coast
Mission on Thursday, November 6th. Clothes, personal care items, playing cards, toys, games,
books, etc.
Ville Ste. Marie Visit: We will be visiting our partnered assisted living residency at 3pm on
Jefferson Hwy. in Metairie to spend time with our beloved friends there. We will play BINGO and
other fun activities with the residents. Each organization in attendance will receive 50 points, as
well as an additional 5 points per member in attendance on November 6th.
King of Hearts: 100 points per organization who participates on November 7th.
Violet Gala: 15 points per member in attendance by 6:30pm. Winners of the week will be
announced during the gala on November 8th.
