“When I became a member many years ago, I met a group of young ladies who
helped me through my first year of college. College, after all, was a new
environment, exciting, yet unknown. I met and grew into the Sigma Kappa
Sisterhood throughout my college days. Sigma Kappa was my rock. It kept me
going when things got bad, and most probably instrumental in keeping me on
course. Sigma Kappa was fun and full of experiential learning. I was provided with
leadership opportunities, and those challenges prepared me to go forth with the
successful professional career I am enjoying today. Thanks Sigma Kappa for all

To commemorate the anniversary of being a chapter on the campus of UNO for 45 years, the Greater New Orleans Alumnae
Association of Sigma Kappa in conjunction with the collegiate Epsilon Beta members hosted a reunion for all Sigma Kappas
who were presently attending or have attended UNO, as well as those who were members of the alumnae group. Mothers of the
collegiate members were also invited to attend the event. Mothers of Sigma Kappas received special Sigma Kappa Mothers Pins.
The reunion/reception was held on Sunday, November 11th at the Homer Hitt Alumni Center on campus.
Composites were on display, as well as all awards and silverware received by the chapter over the past 45 years. A special
tribute to the founders of Sigma Kappa Sorority was done, and awards were given out.
