Welcome to the Epsilon Beta Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority's website! The Sisters of Sigma
Kappa at the University of New Orleans had a great spring semester! This spring, members
participated in homecoming activities, Greek Week, had many socials such as our Valentine's
Party, annual Purple Haze Party and Violet Ball, exchanges with the fraternities, our annual Kick in
the Grass Kickball Tournament that benefited Alzheimer's Disease Research, sisterhoods,
philanthropies, Easter Egg Hunt at the UNO Children's Center, Student Activities Council events,
father-daughter baseball game, mother-daughter social, parent's night, a family picnic with the
alumnae chapter, supporting the UNO Privateers at athletic events, and much more!

This fall has even more great events lined up! The sorority will host two new theme socials and
initiate its first Ultra Violet Week philanthropy campaign in November. Check back to see what the
Sisters of Sigma Kappa are up to!

Sigma Kappa Sorority WINS Homecoming Competition
for the 2nd Year in a Row!
Wednesday, February 13th through Wednesday, February 20th the members of Epsilon Beta competed in various Homecoming competitions and festivities with
other student and Greek organizations such as a banner competition for the University Center, a spirit stick competition, banner for the gym, Open Mic Night, Movie
Trivia Night, a pep-rally, a mocktail competition (make non-alcoholic drinks), sidewalk chalk competition, dodge ball competition, and the UNO Men's Basketball
game! The Sigma Kappa members showed strong and continuous spirit and enthusiasm throughout the week and the hard work and effort paid off when the
Student Activities Council announced after the basketball game that Sigma Kappa placed first overall in the homecoming events! Sigma Kappa placed first last year
and are excited about retaining the title for another year! Shannon Zorn, a junior and a member of Sigma Kappa, was named to the 2008 Homecoming Court.
Congratulations Shannon!

The theme was "Cage the Cajuns" as UNO Privateers played University of Louisiana- Lafayette. Sigma Kappas dressed up at the basketball game as privateers with
a caged Cajun, which was a big hit with the crowd. ABC News Channel 26 included in their evening sports newscast video footage of the Sigma Kappas at the game
and the Sigma Kappa member who dressed as a chili pepper (the other team's mascot) in a cage that the sorority members constructed. "There were women in
cages tonight...", said the sports anchor.
